Speaking at an AssemblyFormer multiple Paralympic medal winner Ian Rose visited us on Wednesday to launch our 21st Century ‘Be the Best you can Be’ programme. He recounted his life, challenges, setbacks and successes with passion and humour. After 40 minutes of listening spellbound the children left the hall inspired.

‘Once the assembly had finished I felt like I was special. I felt like I was ready to do whatever sport I want to do.’ Year 5

‘No matter what other people think of you, it is all about your confidence.’ Year 5

‘Just because you have a problem, that does not mean you can’t do what everyone else can do.’ Year 4

Ian visited each class and allowed some children to wear his medals.

Ian told the children that to be successful they have to practise, have a positive attitude and control how we deal with our fears and challenges.
