Performance coaching for small business owners and business individuals
- What is Business Performance Coaching?
Business Coaching is about thinking differently. If we carry on doing the same old things, it follows that we will always get the same results. So, if you want to overcome or achieve something new with your business and you are ready to seek help to bring about that change, business coaching could be for you!
Albert Einstein once said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
How do I know if I could benefit from Business Coaching?
• Are you struggling to balance your work, home and social life?
• Could you do with help staying focused?
• Have you lost your purpose or your reason WHY you started?
• Do you feel that you aren’t reaching your potential or are feeling unfulfilled?
• Do you need someone to make you accountable for your goals and actions?
• Is there a gap between where you are now and where you want to be?
• Or do you need a sounding board for new revenue generating ideas?
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions then a little business coaching can support you to grow your business and take it to new highs.
How does coaching work?
Business Coaching helps you move from where you are now to where you want to be, more quickly and effectively than if you were working on your own. It is a number of structured conversations between you and the coach that explores goals and ultimately comes up with a plan of action to make them happen.
Coaching recognises that motivation lies within you retaining ownership of your decisions and actions. You will be more likely to act on a decision if it is one that you have taken yourself, rather than some arbitrary course of action being imposed on you by someone else.
The agenda always rests with you. After all, the person who knows the ambitions and strengths of your business best of all is you!
Big changes rarely occur overnight, so this is a journey of small steps. These steps are your goals. Ian will help you set goals that are specific, achievable, relevant to your ambitions and in tune with what matters to you. Once a goal or problem has been defined, you will discover that conquering it becomes a much more manageable task. The key is to follow step 1 of Ian’s Three Steps To Success and simplify seemingly insurmountable problems by breaking them down into smaller tasks, tackling them one at a time with specific deadlines and desired outcomes.
Coaching is not about giving advice.
A Coach will not advise you or train you on how to do anything. In fact, you will not receive advice of any kind. Remember, your solutions come from inside you. It is the Coach’s job to draw them out and make you aware of them.
“Ian is a brilliant business coach! He always seems to know the best question to ask me, to help me see a way around the next obstacle. He helps me to see things differently, turning challenges into opportunities. He gives me the boost of motivation that I need, when I start to lose my way. At the same time he encourages me always to think about the bigger picture of my business and my big goals. I really value the time I spend talking to Ian each month.”Chantal Cornelius

“Ian is a highly professional coach who is very strong on setting Goals and clarifying actions to take you forward. He was very quick to establish rapport that enabled Ian to both support and challenge me, especially in relation to business development and aspects around my ‘inner circle’. Ian was good at keeping the balance between what was ‘serious business’ and how this interacted with ‘fun’. This is a real bonus and truly appreciated. Thank you Ian for your time, effort and professionalism. You are a great coach.”

“I have enjoyed my coaching sessions with Ian immensely, and they have been extremely productive. Ian’s calm and personable style really helped me to relax into the coaching process, and my achievements have benefited as a result. His ability to focus on the underlying reasons for wanting a goal, and then using those reasons to drive actions, is testament to his role as a great motivator. In particular, I have to thank Ian for helping me to address issues of self-confidence. It was his coaching and ongoing support that enabled me to perform above my own expectations in a recent challenge.
